On March 4, 2019 (at Sagan Convention Centre, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada) about 200 Canadian of Rajasthani heritage welcomed HH Maharaja of Gaj Singhji of Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India to familiarize him of enormous educational opportunities (for students coming from India) available in Canada. These incoming “International Students” from India can available themselves of World class Canadian education system.

 

In addition, there are hundreds of Rajasthani heritage Canadian residents, and RANA (Canada), who have been, and ready in future to, providing on-going mentorship and Rajasthani cultural immersion.

Outcome:

HH Maharaja of Gaj Singhji of Jodhpur applauded efforts of Rajasthanies to contribute to their “mother-land”, and agreed to generate awareness for “Educational Empowerment” mission of Amity Foundation.

Sh. Rajendra Singh Rathore is 7th time (from 1990 to now) continuously elected MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly of Rajasthan state in India). He is currently “Deputy Leader of the Opposition”. In his earlier elected terms, he held many ministerial positions (incl. Medical Education or Health Services portfolios) in Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. He was also elected as the president of the Student Union at Rajasthan University in 1979

 

Given Sh. Rathore’s very long, and successful, public service track record, and connect at ground level with citizen of Rajasthan, Sh. Rajendra Prasad (RP) Pahuja ji (Amity Director & Treasurer) along Amity Directors, and RANA Canada,  hosted multiple engagements with Sh. Rathore, while he was on a visit to Toronto, Ontario, Canada during month of September 2019.

Sh. Rathore was appraised of:

1. Canadian education opportunities available in various formats, e.g.,

  • Community Colleges: focused on vacation education or hands-on-training up to 2 yrs

  • Universities: Offering four-year bachelor's or master's or doctoral programs.

2. Various voluntary Amity Foundation programs to counsel, guide, mentor or provide cultural immersion avenues for Rajasthani students considering Canada for their future education.

Outcome:

Sh. Rathore invited Amity Foundation to reach out to educationists in Rajasthan, where in, he can provide introduction to appropriate educational institutions or administrators in Rajasthan. 

Meeting CGI, Toronto - Feb 03, 2020

Amity Foundation Board of Directors called on Smt.Apoorva Srivastava, Consul General of India in Toronto, on February 03, 2020 at her office.

The Board appraised Smt. Apoorva ji (CGI Toronto) of various Amity Foundation Programs. These programs were created based on the directors’ experience working with tens of “International Students” from India, over about last five years. These students covered broad spectrum of age groups (from 16 yrs. to 30 yrs.) and spanning educational needs from grade school to community college to university. 

 

In dealing with concerns surrounding “International Students” from India, Smt. Apoorva ji observed growing need for on-going mentoring and cultural immersion.

Outcome:

Smt. Apoorva ji expressed keen interest in the Mentoring and Cultural Immersion program of Amity Foundation. In her desire to leverage Amity Foundation, she introduced Sh. Puran Mehra (Consul – Admin, DDO & Culture) as contact person for matters relating to the “International Students” from India.  

Sh. Alok Goel ji (Amity Director & Vice-President) personally visited several educational institutes, e.g.,

 

  • Mayurakshi Group of Institutes, Jodhpur

  • The Institution of Engineers (India), Jodhpur Local Center

  • M.B.M. Engineering College, Jodhpur

to introduce them to Canadian educational opportunities available in various formats, e.g.,
